Helping you achieve what's possible
Helping you achieve what's possible
As a leadership expert and coach, I guide senior and mid-level leaders to realize their potential. My passion is helping high performers discover what’s possible in their professional and personal lives by creating the perspectives and behaviors necessary to lead themselves, their teams and their organizations.
Understanding your goals and desired outcomes is the first step to designing a customized experience that exceeds your expectations. We will co-create a plan that aligns with your strategy, culture and learning and development goals.
My executive coaching clients hail from a broad range of corporate, nonprofit, and military/government organizations including Blackrock, Brookings Institution, Clark Construction, Colby College, Deloitte, Fidelity Investments, Ford Motor Company, FTI Consulting, Gartner, Goldman Sachs, Human Rights Campaign, Invesco, Liberty Mutual, MasterCard, NASA, Navy Federal Credit Union, Northrop Grumman, Sands Capital Management, SAP/Concur, T. Rowe Price, The Honor Foundation, The World Bank Group, UBS, the University of Virginia Health System, US Departments of Defense, Energy, Health & Human Services, and Interior, among others. Curiosity, compassion and courage are the core values that guide my work with clients.
In addition to coaching individual and organizational clients, I have designed and delivered award-winning customized executive development programs for more than 20 years at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and UVA/Darden. In my consulting practice, I integrate my cross-industry experience and leadership development expertise to design and facilitate best-in-class programs for high-potential, mid-level and executive audiences across industry, function and geography.
I have developed and delivered short courses and webinars on a number of topics top of mind for my clients, including Developing a Personal Brand, Leading with Strengths, Finding Work/Life Balance, Managing Imposter Syndrome, Giving Critical Feedback, Developing Executive Presence. In addition, I have had the honor of co-teaching in Navy Federal's Leaders as Coaches program, UVA Northern Virginia's Women's Professional Development Program and The Communication's Center's Effective Presentation Skills courses.
I earned the Executive Leadership Coaching certificate from Georgetown University and the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coaching Federation. I received a B.A. in English Literature and Rhetoric & Communications Studies from the University of Virginia, and a Master of Liberal Arts degree with a concentration in creative writing from the University of Pennsylvania. I am certified in the Leadership Circle Profile, Vertical Mindset Indicator, Korn Ferry Leadership Architect, Gallup's CliftonStrengths and Kirkpatrick Strategic Evaluation Model, and trained in the Dare To Lead and Positive Intelligence methodologies. I engage in frequent continuing education to further my own development and growth.
I gained a new self-awareness during our coaching engagement. I am on the cusp of charting a new way of being for women in the workforce, and this takes ENERGY. I'm fairly certain that there is now a permanent Katie voice inside my head that asks, "What will you do with this new information?" Her focus was 100% on me.
-Senior Attorney, NGO
My most powerful learning is that the change I want or hope for myself isn't tied to the role I occupy, it's tied to me as an individual. WOW! I now set daily intentions that reinforce my power in shaping my professional and personal life. The most valuable aspect of coaching was the time spent solely on my own development as a leader.
- Executive Director, nonprofit
We covered a wide array of topics and areas for my leadership development. The single most powerful learning for me was the confidence-building and self-awareness that I gained through the coaching process. Katie's coaching style was very attuned to listening and asking questions that helped me identify my own strengths that I hadn't fully realized.
